I see an error displayed on my Google Map
Please ensure you have added an API Key in the General Settings page, as per the instructions here. If you already have, please check it is configured correctly. We are unable to assist with any API errors due to the complexity of the Google Maps API Platform, and because we will be unable to log into it on your behalf to check the configuration.
No Spaces are showing up on the map
Please turn on the listing column in the Directory Page Settings page. Then run a search. If there are no listings in the column, there will be no Spaces on your map.
For a Space to appear on the map, that Space must have an address entered in it’s internal About Information settings page. We recommend asking your Space administrators to update and re-save their address settings, for their own peace of mind.
If you would like your previously created Spaces to show on the map, head into your site backend screen, then go to Spaces > System > Rebuild Spaces. This will try to geolocate any addresses found within your Spaces. Results may vary, as Google will use a ‘best guess’ approach, and this is no substitute for instructing your Space owners to double check and re-save their addresses If you were previously using Google Autocomplete to help Space owners add addresses, this may work well. However, if Space owners had been adding addresses manually, the geolocation service may fail, and you will need to instruct your Space owners to re-enter their addresses.
Can I Choose Other Map Styles?
For the first version of our new directory, we have included Silver. We do not plan on adding further styles at this stage, as that method is now deprecated and Google recommend switching to Cloud-based maps.
I am seeing errors from Google in my browser console
As legacy maps are now deprecated, Google may show errors in your browser console. Switch to Cloud-based maps to remove these.
I don’t want to use Google for my maps. Are there alternatives?
Google is the most complete solution for autocompleting addresses, geolocating locations and displaying maps with rich features such as info boxes and custom markers. We understand that some of our users may want to use other systems. Please add these as feature requests, and they will then go through our priority matrix to see if we can add them in a later version.
